Winter Fun
The Santa Claus Parade, hosted by the Kirkland Lake District Chamber of Commerce, is held annually in late November. Spectators fill Kirkland Lake’s downtown to see a parade of themed floats and marching groups down Government Road.

Unveiling of Christmas Parade
During the Unveiling of Christmas event, large crowds gather in the downtown core of Englehart to spread their Christmas spirit. Black River-Matheson Dasher Dayz
The Black River-Matheson Chamber of Commerce hosts the annual Dasher Dayz event on the first Friday of the month of December. Dasher Dayz includes extended hours for the downtown businesses for an extra opportunity to shop local, pictures with Santa, and a Christmas parade through Downtown Matheson followed by the lighting of Rotary Park.
Larder Lake Public Library Annual Christmas Craft & Bake Sale
The Larder Lake Public Library hosts a bake sale and Christmas craft sale of locally made artisan products. Check out their website for more information and this year’s date.
Kirkland Lake Rotary Club Winter Fish Derby

Annual Winter Fish Derby
The Winter Fish Derby, held annually in March, features a day of ice fishing on Larder Lake followed by a presentation of numerous cash prizes to be won in each division. Englehart Winter Carnival
The Englehart Winter Carnival is a weekend long carnival filled with events, such as: snow sculpture contests, ice skating, tobogganing, horse wagon rides, snowshoe races, kids carnival activities, a comedy show, and so much more!
