There are plenty of great sport fishing opportunities in the area. Small-mouth bass, walleye, northern pike, lake trout, and yellow perch are some species you can expect to reel in while fishing in the district. There are over 100 lakes and streams located within a five-mile radius from the lodge, filled with pike, walleye, bass, perch, and speckled trout. This fishing lodge is located on Burt Lake, which is home to walleye, northern pike, trout, herring, perch, and ling species. Only a short distance away, Burt Lake #1, #4, and #5, as well as the Englehart River and Montreal River system allow for endless fishing opportunities. Boat and motors are also available for use.
Saul Outfitters offers boat fishing, shore fishing, down-rigger, trolling, and fly fishing experiences in over a dozen lakes and rivers, accessible by truck, ATV, or by foot.

Golden Eagle Camp is located on a large river system, and is surrounded by various remote lakes to explore, accommodating many fishing techniques (casting, trolling, jigging, or fly fishing). A variety of boats and ATVs are available to rent, making these remote fishing spots easily accessible to their guests.

The Lee Pool in Englehart is a 100’x40’ outdoor pool that hosts Adult, Public, and Senior swims. Visitors of all ages can enjoy the pool from June to the end of August. For more information, visit their Facebook page.
The aquatic center at the Joe Mavrinac Community Complex features a 6-lane 25 meter lap pool, a warm leisure pool with a lazy river, a huge water slide, and an on-deck co-ed sauna. This facility is fully accessible allowing all visitors to easily enjoy the water. For up to date swim schedules, check out their Facebook page.
Larder River Canoe Trip
Novice to moderate canoeists will enjoy this 49km canoe route, beginning at Raven Lake (access via Hwy 624 to Larder Lake and then east on Hwy 66 to the River Lake Road). This route can be canoed comfortably in two to three days. The route includes rapids and falls, which may be run or tracked by experienced canoeists, but portages are recommended.

There is nothing better than a warm summer day spent boating on the water. Luckily, our district offers many boating opportunities on a variety of beautiful lakes.
Don’t forget your Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC)! The PCOC is required to legally operate a motor-powered boat on our waters. Register for the online boater safety course here, so that you can understand how to operate a boat safely!
